Free AAPI Book Giveaway - Join OBOW on May 27th!
During this event, we will be distributing free books that showcase the rich cultural heritage of AAPI communities. We invite you to swing by and grab your complimentary book, as well as the opportunity to purchase more books at a 20% discount. Donations are also welcome to support our ongoing diversity and inclusion efforts.

The book giveaway will be divided into two sessions:
Session I: 1:30 PM - 2:00 PM
Exclusively open to OBOW families, including previous donors, and parents & students from schools that have participated in our book drive in the past two years. We extend our heartfelt gratitude for your continued support and invite you to join us during this exclusive session.
Session II: Starting at 2:00 PM
Open to the public, this session welcomes everyone interested in celebrating AAPI heritage. Feel free to bring along your friends, family, and colleagues to share in this wonderful opportunity.

OBOW Lunar New Year Workshop 2
Read, Learn, Crafts and Gifts!

Zoom Meeting
In this meeting, One Book One World will lead children to read another story about the Lunar New Year, play some trivia games, and make a play-doh / clay tiger ornament together!
You will need: Play-Doh or Modeling Clay (recommended)
Shaping tools: Scissors, plastic knife, tooth pick, pen with rounded tip.

OBOW Lunar New Year Workshop 1
In this meeting, One Book One World will lead children to read a story about the Lunar New Year, explore some of the traditions, and do a paper cutting craft together.
You will need: Colored papers (red is best), Scissors, Pencil&Eraser, Glue stick or double sided tape.
(Please download the Printable Pattern to print it on colored printing paper or trace it during the meeting)

READ, DRAW, AND Q&A WITH GRACE LIN

In this meeting, Grace Lin will read one of her award winning books and lead children to draw something from the picture book. The event will be completed with a Q&A session, so be sure to register and submit any questions you might have for Grace!

POETRY WRITING WITH JANET WONG

Zoom Meeting
In this Poetry Writing Session, award winning poet Janet Wong will lead students to think, talk, and write about their own stories. Wong's "Advice for Writers" might inspire them to write their own books, too!
After the event, we will select two students who participated and give out two copies of Janet's book "A Suitcase of Seaweed & More".
This event is best suited for students ages 9-12.
